The Grand Plaza community is celebrating with Jo from Vintage Loves Flowers & Decor on her win at the Logan City Local Business Awards for Outstanding Florist! We sat down with Jo to have a chat about the win and her business.

How does it feel to be a Logan City Local Business Award winner?
I am super proud of myself! It’s been a real honour. The awards are based on performance, the overall presentation of my shop, staff and social media marketing. There is a lot that goes into running a small business, so it’s been wonderful to be recognised.  

What’s your top management tip for other local small business owners?
Work hard and remain focussed your goals. It’s important to learn from your failures and setbacks, not letting them get you down. You can’t let a bad day ruin the whole week!

Tell us what you love about being a business owner in Logan and Grand Plaza.
I love the community spirit and the amazing friendships I've formed with so many people in the area. It’s a pleasure to work with locals for their special occasions and I’m proud of the product I can deliver.

What’s one business goal you have for the current year you can share?
We have some great shop improvements happening in the next year which will increase the dynamics of the store and give it a fresh new feeling. This is something I have been working on for a while now, so it will be satisfying to execute the vision! Stay tuned.

Tell us something you’re most proud of when it comes to your business.
I have been able to survive in business for 8 years, despite all the tough times. I've done it all by myself and managed to grow my business with the support of my staff and customers.
